We’re home in Kentucky for the holidays so Neema and I decided to play tourist in Louisville, about 30 miles north of my hometown. One of our favorite places we visited was the Seelbach Hotel and Bar. It’s gorgeous — drenched in history and gold detailing. In fact, it’s F. Scott Fitzgerald’s muse for The Great Gatsby. If you’re in town, don’t leave without stopping by the Seelbach Bar for a bourbon cocktail and a trip back to the 1920’s.
I’m a sucker for LBD’s. But when I stumbled upon this one at Madewell, I initially hesitated picking it up due to the side cut-outs — they’re normally not my style. I decided to take a chance on them since they seemed minimal and I am so happy I did.
They’re the perfect touch to making this little black dress a little more interesting. Not to mention the gold studded detailing.
It’s the perfect combination of chic and sophistication.
