Coming off a chilly (but beautiful!) wedding weekend in Vail, I’m happy to be back home in the
warm California sunshine. Jokes aside, this weekend the weatherman is predicting temperatures to reach the high 70’s (!!!) which means I’ll be reaching deep into my closet to resurface a few of my spring favorites from last year. One of those items being this dress which sadly, is no longer available. But don’t you worry, I’ve got your floral fix!
I’ve always had a love for florals. With that, I’ve endured years of, ehmm, resistance from my husband who refuses to accept that anyone with so much as an ounce of style would voluntarily dress themselves in what he calls, “window drapery from the 1970’s” — and have the nerve to deem themselves fashionable. Luckily, we have other views in common, this just isn’t one of them.
As much as I roll my eyes when he pokes fun, I can’t help but laugh. Because, let’s be honest, it is possible to abuse your floral privileges. For me, I like to wear more compact, busy designs at a smaller scale. Less fabric, less chaos. For larger prints, I’m willing to don the extra coverage as the the pattern allows for more “white space” and a simpler look.
Whether it’s a dress full of blooms or peony covered pumps, introducing florals to your wardrobe will add a little “spring” in your step, no matter the weather!

P.S. This shoot took place more than a year ago now. It was my very first photoshoot for ATD, a day that will always hold a special place in my heart. It was shot by my dear friend who also happens to be an incredibly talented photographer, Mike Cialowicz.
