If you follow me on social, you may have seen Neema and I slip away last month on a spontaneous trip to Hawaii.
Sunny skies. Lush landscapes. Mouthwatering mai tais.
Maui is the epitome of paradise.
Each morning, we’d wake up before the sun, grab coffee and head down to the beach to watch the sunrise. We’d stroll along the water, chatting about our lazy day ahead and pinching ourselves ever so often. I guess you just never get used to waking up in paradise.
While morning walks were a highlight, the sunrises couldn’t outshine the sunsets.
Maui’s sunsets are on fire.
Slow burning; from yellow, to pink, to a smoldering red. You can feel the shift in energy when the sun starts to sink. Suddenly everyone’s attention is pulled further west, mesmerized by Maui’s sultry skies.
If they’re anything like me, they began to question their life’s direction. “Why don’t I live here? Why doesn’t my entire family live here? Why don’t we start our own village? Just kidding, but seriously, why do people ever leave this place? I don’t want to leave. I won’t leave.”
Unfortunately, I left. It was hard.
Hard to say goodbye to early morning walks on the beach, to long midday naps in a hammock, to those spectacular sunsets, forever burned in my mind.
I have thing for off the shoulder dresses. Bare shoulders and collar bones offer a little skin but certainly not too much.
I fell in love with this ADELYN RAE LACE DRESS at first sight. That lace. Those ruffles. How much more romantic can a dress get? It’s so light and airy, perfect for the beach and versatile enough for most spring and summer occasions (I’m talking to you, brides.) This dress also comes in navy and fits true to size.
