One of my simple pleasures in life involves waking up early, usually before the sun rises, and heading to our favorite place to grab a cup of joe, Philz Coffee. Philz is a well-known San Francisco coffee shop serving the smoothest, creamiest coffee this side of the Mississippi — according to me at least. My order: “Philtered Soul” with almond milk and brown sugar. One sip and I’m in chocolatey, hazelnut heaven. Clearly (promise this wasn’t planned), my love for a nutty mocha mix carries into my fall wardrobe. Coffee and clothes — same, same — no? Well, they’re at least of equal importance in my world.
I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for 1970’s style which is why I fell in love with the crewneck, banded hem and flare sleeves on this knit sweater. It also comes in navy but I just couldn’t resist this unique “brown buckthorn” color. Though labeled “brown”, it’s actually the richest shade of gold, reminding me of my favorite fall foilage hue. While it would be so cute paired with skinny or flare jeans, I chose to wear it with this Express high waisted faux leather pencil skirt, which is now 40% off! Whether you’re sporting a simple sweater, a chunky, heavier knit, or tucking in a silky blouse, this pencil skirt (also available in nude and black) is a piece that will make any outfit feel stylish and classic.
I also have to share my new go-to lipstick for the season — Statement Lux Lipshine in the color NSFW by Bare Essentials. In the tube, the shade looks much darker than what I would typically go for. One light application and you have my everyday color. A swipe or two more and you’ll get a deeper, dramatic lip, perfect for a night out. Another bonus — it matches my favorite fall nail color, Malaga Wine by OPI, which I’ll likely wear on repeat the rest of the season!
